Club History

 The Hockey-Club Rotweiss Wettingen was founded in 1928. Originally situated in Baden, the club moved to Wettingen three years later where an own pitch had been bought. In 1933 the HC Rotweiss Wettingen was promoted to the first division where the men’s team has played since then.

A milestone in club history was the construction of an artificial water based pitch in 1994.

Today HC Rotweiss Wettingen is one of the biggest and most successful clubs in Switzerland with two women’s and 3 men’s teams and about 145 juniors. 

The men’s team won the fieldhockey outdoor championship 30 times, the Cup 24 times and were indoor champion 25 times since 1962.

The women’s team made the fieldhockey outdoor champion 17 times, won de Cup 12 times and were indoor champion 17 times since 1999.

Rotweiss Wettingen represented Switzerland several times at the European Club Championship and the men’s team won the Indoor A-Division tournament in Terassa in 2002 and last year the ladies won the bronze medal at the EuroHockey Indoor Champions Cup.
